Visited the annual London Art Fair at the Business Design Centre, in Islington. Noticed this year there seemed to be a surfeit of Bridget Riley's stripey painting and prints, as well as Keith Vaughn's figurative paintings. A couple of artworks caught my eye, one of which being by Nancy Fouts, who like Polly Morgan, employs taxidermy as the central theme in her work. I like the imaginative use of surrealism and whimsy but feel certain pieces exploit, or are disrespectful of the animals. The piece of hers illustrated below (Butterfly Boat) however, has a magical feel and is just poetic.
