Reading Matter

Had been a good boy for all of 2011, (well most of it!), and was duly rewarded to find this beautifully designed and lavishly illustrated tome in my Christmas stocking. Edward Bawden's London details his associations with the capital from his early student days to his later exhibitions and teaching stints at various colleges. Some beautiful line drawings and of course lots of masterful linocut prints of landmark buildings, some now long gone. Looking forward to Easter when hopefully the Easter Bunny will bring me the reprint of High Street by Bawden's great friend Ravilious.
