Fleurs De Villes: Floral Couture

Last Saturday was such a wet and dreary day in old London town. An anomalous blip in the Indian summer we had been experiencing in the capital throughout September and October. However, there were rays of sunshine to found in London on that dank, drear Saturday if you were to look hard enough. One such hotspot I found, was in Covent Garden, where I discovered these colourful mannequins in what turned out to be a feast of floral couture. The display was the work of Fleurs de Villes - an organisation who work with top florists in a number of cities to create stunning displays where art and design collides with floristry to create something quite special and unique. London's premier florists such as Bloomsbury Flowers, Wild Things and Amie Bone, were paired with premium brands such as Kate Spade, Rituals, Taittinger, and Mariage Freres to create showpiece floral couture outfits for a group of mannequins. The collaborative displays wowed the crowds. It was a wonderful, eye-popping tribute to the skills of both the art of floristry and fashion. Everybody loves the power of a flower, and the colourful impact of these on a rainy autumnal day proved to be a real boon. Feast your eyes on these fresh, floral beauties!
