I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the stark minimalism of this exhibtion. The sensation of mood created by being bathed in the beautiful, soft pink colours emanating from the lights which filled the galleries in this immersive installation was a real comfort and refuge from London's harsh winter weather outside. This exhibition is surprisingly the first presentation of Dan Flavin's work in London. Flavin (1933-1996) began creating these flourescent light installations - or "situations" as he preferred to call them from 1963 until the end of his career. They make for very atmospheric excercises in colour and architecture.
